Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: StoneX Enterprise Data Services aims to make data a strategic asset for the firm by providing a platform that enables the structuring, management, integration, control, discovery, usage, and governance of our Data Assets. The internship requires a hands-on ability to engineer datasets leveraging a wide variety of technologies in order to expose the data in a scalable and efficient manner across the organization. Seeking a 3 month internship with opportunity for hire. Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities: * Work closely with data engineers and analysts to design and expand our data coverage. * Build Microservices to work with existing infrastructure. * Deploy modern data management tools to curate our most important data sets, models and processes, while identifying areas for process automation and further efficiencies. * Strong Computer Science fundamentals with an aptitude in Finance. * Leverage the Open Source community in exploring useful tools to help scale data capture, message/stream processing, and data visualization. * Assist in expanding operational support capabilities. * Works proactively with other team members. * Maintains prompt and regular attendance.Job Requirements: * Prefer candidates with a minimum of 2 years completion of college coursework * Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related major preferred * Working knowledge of more than one programming language (Python, Java, C++, C#, etc.) * Basic knowledge of relational SQL stores, including database design. * Built or Consumed REST APIs. * Course work on distributed systems and one or familiarity with tools within a big data ecosystem (Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Kubernetes, ETL tools, Apache Parquet, Hive) * Familiar with Data Governance principles. * Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with subject matter expert to extract critical business concepts. * Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details. * Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.Physical requirements/Working conditions: * Climate controlled office environment * Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials * Dynamic, time-sensitive environment About UsStoneX (formerly known as INTL FCStone) is an institutional-grade financial services network that connects companies, organizations and investors to the global markets ecosystem through a unique blend of digital platforms, end-to-end clearing and execution services, high-touch service and deep expertise.
