Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Trade Compliance Specialist, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

This position supports the Business Group's compliance with the trade regulations governing the Company's business in international markets. The Sr. Trade Compliance Specialist coordinates the tactical aspects of export and import licensing and acts as a Business Group Subject Matter Expert in Trade Compliance functions in accordance with U.S. Government Regulations. This position works independently, with little supervision.

What you will be doing

  • Serves as a primary point of contact within the Business Group for export/import transactions. Business Group lead for all export-related issues to promote compliance with U.S. Government Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Treasury - Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) relating to the export of Company products, services, transfers of technical data, employment of foreign nationals and all other import/export licensing and compliance matters
  • Leads the Business Group in the structuring export licensing strategy though the use of licenses and agreements for complex business models
  • Supports Contract Operations team by reviewing customer contracts and providing recommended changes or alternate language to Trade Compliance provisions to ensure Woodward's compliance.
  • Conducts and assigns internal export compliance audits and reviews within the Business Group per established audit plan

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • BA/BS and related experience, or 8+ years equivalent experience
  • Legal Background a plus
  • Experience in Aerospace and/or Industrial industries preferred
  • Familiarity with international export regulations a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Experience implementing Trade Compliance Programs

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or possess all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State Department and the U.S. Department of Commerce. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
