Position Purpose: To lead material procurement efforts on major construction projects and provides mentoring to fellow team members.
Essential Responsibilities
§ Leads the procurement efforts on multiple or complex large projects.
§ Provides management, guidance, and assistance to the purchasing department personnel.
§ Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, evaluates vendor performance, develops alternate sources, and negotiates price and delivery.
§ Recommends major purchases of materials based on specifications, current lead times and cost.
§ Makes certain that purchasing documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.
§ Assures that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required.
§ Analyze price histories to provide information on price variances.
§ Sets up annual blanket pricing agreements.
§ Prepares correspondence, presentations and reports for key customers and management.
§ Works with the estimating department on pricing of estimates.
§ Works with project management to procure materials at the correct cost and in a timely manner.

Qualifications
§ 7+ years of electrical construction material procurement experience is preferred
§ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering
§ Related experience in the electrical construction industry will be considered.
Work Environment
§ Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 50% of the time.
§ The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
§ Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, and computer printer.
§ The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and coworkers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
§ Occasionally lifting 20 pounds
