Part-Time, On-Call. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments or projects.
This position requires extensive travel to locations throughout the US and US possessions. Perform tasks involving physical labor at building construction projects. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites. May assist other craft workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This job requires the majority of time to be spent standing. Work that includes moderate to strenuous physical effort and long periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and crouching, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally items weighing over 40 pounds with assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, or hard hats 100% of the time. May require working exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable, important to use hearing protection. This job commonly requires working outdoors in all kinds of climates including desert climates and arctic climates year-round. Requires working in constant contact with a wide variety of people in different functions, personalities and abilities.
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.
Driving is required when traveling to the project site and to procure materials and equipment. The expected driving time is up to 50%.
