Overview

Do you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking a Purchasing Manager to manage an extensive Contractor Buy-out/Purchasing Process for a significant (appx $4B) , five year healthcare construction management project. The successful candidate will work closely with Trade Contractors, Vendors, and Jobsite Personnel. Please note that this role will sit primarily on the project site located in Rochester, MN.

Responsibilities
    Managing the pre-bid and post-bid process for all trade contractors
  • Manage bid documents, contracts, purchase orders, consultant agreements and amendments
  • Expediting all contract documents sent out for execution
  • Overseeing evaluation and approval of subcontractors for optimum quality and value
  • Developing positive relationships with Trade Contractors, Vendors, Jobsite Personnel and Internal Company Department Personnel as well as Gilbane''s other Regional Offices
  • Review trade contractors scopes of work
  • Collaborating with project teams, preconstruction team, regarding strategy and schedule for bid and award process
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15 years of purchasing or construction experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency is Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
