Egan is seeking Fire Alarm Service Technicians for opportunities in the Rochester, MN area. This is a union position with top-rate wages, healthcare, retirement, and vacation benefits. We are looking for independent, customer-service-oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards.

The basic responsibilities of the Fire Alarm Service Technician include but are not limited to the following:

• Service and repair specified electronic life safety systems and peripheral device

• Programming Fire Alarm Systems -- Notifier experience is a plus

• Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installation

• Train and instruct new users on a life safety equipment

• Work with dispatch coordinators to get service requests accomplished in a timely manner

• Completion of daily communications to the office and customer

• High School diploma or GED required

• Valid MN Power Limited Technician license

• NICET Certification is preferred (We can assist you in attaining this certification)

• Knowledge of Current NFPA 72 Code

• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills

• Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance

• Valid Driver's License

• 3 year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry

• Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)

• Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights

• Highly motivated and ability to multi-task

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

• Proficiency using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner

• Good hand dexterity and strength
