The Specialist Engineer, Tools and Design, located in Canoga Park, CA, will assist in the development and design of a variety of tools and equipment required to support manufacturing, quality and test operations. You will perform feasibility analysis of special tool plans; create tool concepts and ensure Tool Designers create tool models and drawings which utilize current environmental health and safety procedures, tool standards manuals and sound engineering practices; initiate fabrication and assist with inspection and operational checkout of special tools; and resolve tooling problems encountered during tool usage.

With minimal direction, the Specialist Tool Engineer applies technical expertise to directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques. This position exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Driver's License Requirement:
Some positions may require possession of a valid driver's license. Employees who drive on company business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid driver's license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the Company. Special Requirement:
Some positions may need to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense top secret clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto.
